Ivanov

Lighting Designer - Zak Macro

Director - Dominic Rouse

Designer - Philippa Brocklehu

Venue- Webber Douglas Studio

In December 2015 I worked on a production of Ivanov as the lighting designer with the above creative team. The end product consisted of a grey box which was to give a sense of Ivanov’s mental space, a 16ft square light box that hung above the space to create a oppressive and exposing space, and finally a ring of defused LED tape to create a physical barrier around the world the play inhabits. Lighting played a key roll in shaping the atmosphere of the play by subtly shifting intensity and colour temperature to echo the emotions of the characters in the space.
